Cypress Soaring Glider Club, located in Southern California, can help you realize your dream of flying a sailplane. Whether it's a one-time glider ride, or a liefetime of soaring adventures, Cypress Soaring has what you're looking for. Cypress Soaring was established in 1969 at Cypress College, in Cypress, California. It was incorporated as a non-profit corporation dedicated to teaching and promoting soaring. The club is based at Krey Field in El Mirage, California (map). El Mirage is centrally located between Victorville and Palmdale. It's about 60-90 miles from most Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange County locations. All basic flight instruction is provided at Krey Field. We also fly from Skylark Field in Lake Elsinore, California. Cypress Club instructors are available usually one day each weekend, so flight instruction is available to members about once a week. We also offer more than just flight instruction. We are a group of people with interests like your own. We conduct regular club meetings once a month. We also have social events, BBQs, safaris to other airports, and we offer a great opportunity to make new friends. People of all ages and a wide variety of backgrounds are members of Cypress Soaring. For an introductory sailplane ride, see our "Rides" page!
